Band : Sharon Den Adel (vocals) Robert Westerholt (guitar) Ruud Jolie (guitar) Jeroen Van Ven (bass) Steven Van Haestregt (drum) Martijn Spierenburg (keyboards) band dibentuk pada tahun 1996 oleh Sharon Den Adel sama Robert Westerholt. Within Temptation merilis album debut mereka di Belanda melalui indie label DSFA bulan April. Mereka mendapatkan reputasi yang hebat ketika manggung di festival "The legendary Dynamo" di tahun 1997. di panggung utama pada tahun 1998. ternyata mereka dapet kritikan dan reputasi yang bagus ini ketika masih kuliah loh...setelah pada beres kuliah deh baru mereka konsen ke band mereka. tahun 2000 lah awal mereka...
